Ashley Almon was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to her parents Bonnie and Rick Almon, alongside her older sister Diana Almon. Her early beginnings in performing arts commenced when her mother enrolled her in ballet classes at the tender age of four. Just a year later, she took to the stage at the prestigious Jubilee Auditorium in the grand production of 'A Little Mermaid'. As a young girl, Ashley's passion for performing seemed to be a natural fit, but her desire to get back into the spotlight was put on hold for a few years.
At the age of twelve, Ashley joined Youth Singers, which performed internationally and annually at the 'Calgary Stampede', but her enthusiasm was short-lived as she dropped out after a month due to her dislike for the experience. Time went by, and Ashley's talent remained untapped until she began modeling at the age of fifteen. Her first catwalk appearance was for TIGI in Calgary, which led to her picture being featured in the local newspaper alongside a fashion article titled 'Female Allure'. Modeling soon became a significant part of her life, and she also started taking drama classes.
Before completing her drama class and her last performance, her teacher pulled her aside and offered some sage advice, saying "Make sure in high school you take more drama class, and with acting never stop." Ashley was taken aback but took the words to heart, as Art, Drama, and English were her strongest subjects.
In high school, Ashley enrolled in Drama but found it to be too technical and was easily bored by the history and paperwork involved. She continued to model and moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta at the age of seventeen. When she turned eighteen, she began building her portfolio as an independent model, taking on various projects such as an extreme truck calendar, lingerie shoots, fashion photo shoots, and bikini modeling in Puerto Vallarta for Ujena in 2006.
Ashley's experiences had a profound impact on her, and she wanted to work harder and play equally as hard. She would often work one-on-one with photographers, coming up with new and creative images. Ashley modeled for Ujena again in 2007, this time for two weeks, and continued to work locally after returning home. In 2008, she joined a Talent agency for modeling and was listed on the roster for acting, which she accepted.
Ashley took a series of auditions and acting workshops and, just a week later, landed a background role as a Dancer in the Made for T.V. movie "Confessions of a go-go girl". In 2009, she was cast as Candice in the short horror film 'Sisters', a project that explored the theme of sororicide and the deathly love between sisters. In 2011, Ashley signed on to another indie project, the short thriller "Lost and Found".
Throughout her journey, Ashley has become fully immersed in the world of acting, which she refers to as her "therapy". Her experiences have taught her the importance of hard work, creativity, and perseverance, and she continues to pursue her passion with unwavering dedication.
