This impressive start was followed by a nationwide search of over 10,000 young actresses, ultimately leading to her selection for the coveted role of Shirley Temple in the ABC Family biographical drama, "Child Star: The Shirley Temple Story", which premiered in 2001.
Subsequently, Ashley made the move to Los Angeles, where she became a familiar face on numerous television series, including the critically acclaimed shows "Dexter" (2006),"Monk" (2002),and "Desperate Housewives" (2004).
