Ashley Shelton, a multifaceted American creative, was born on April 24th in Knoxville, Tennessee. She pursued her passion for the performing arts by graduating from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre.
Ashley's personal life is marked by her marriage to Linds Edwards, which began on December 12, 2012. Her foray into the world of acting commenced with the leading role of Margaret in the critically-acclaimed film "Something, Anything" (2015),which earned a New York Times Critics' Pick and was listed as The Dissolve's "Essential Viewing". The film premiered at several prestigious international film festivals, including Edinburgh, BAMcinemaFest, Sarasota, and Wisconsin, before receiving a commercial release in New York and being made available on major digital platforms in the USA and UK through Sundance #ArtistServices and IFP.
Her performance in "Something, Anything" was praised by The New York Times as "emotionally ambitious...lovely, low-key", and she was also featured on IndieWire's 2015 Year-End Critic's Poll as Best Lead Actress. Since then, Ashley has appeared in a range of films, including "The Evening Hour" (Sundance Film Festival, 2019),"The Giant" (Toronto International Film Festival, 2019),"Wild Rose" (Toronto International Film Festival, 2018),"Sollers Point" (San Sebastian International Film Festival, 2016),and "War Pony" (Cannes 2022, directed by Riley Keough and Gina Gammell).
In addition to her film work, Ashley can be seen in Ethan Hawk's series "The Good Lord Bird" (Showtime). Her award-winning short film "Magnolia & Clementine" was one of a select few films chosen to participate in Amazon's 2019 All Voices Film Festival, which celebrated diversity behind the camera.
