Austin Buchanan, an American actor and filmmaker, embarked on his theatrical journey in the comfort of his own living room, where he taught himself to mimic his favorite actors and staged his own shows for his family. As he honed his craft, his performances soon transitioned from his living room to the classroom, earning him the esteemed title of class clown. His involvement in high school theater led him to the renowned Old Tucson, where he became a part of the stunt cast and performed daily shows, showcasing his acting and stunt skills. The falls he performed ranged from 10 to 40 feet in height, demonstrating his fearlessness and dedication to his craft.
Over the course of 10 years, Austin worked at Old Tucson, eventually rising to the position of Entertainment Lead in 2015. During this time, he trained others in both acting and stunt work, further solidifying his expertise in these areas. Today, he is an integral part of the creative team and stunt coordinator at Old Tucson.
As a young adult, Austin began to transition from live western acting and stunts to the film and television industry, where he has made a name for himself as both an actor and stunt coordinator. His impressive credits include Widow, Cassidy Red, The West and the Ruthless, No Sunday West of Newton, Josephine, Mercy Street, Deadly Shootouts, and many more.
Currently, Austin commutes between Arizona, New Mexico, and California, where he has appeared in a string of independent films. Some of his most notable roles include Lawrence Foster (Hitcher) in 8000 ft Up (2022),Tristan in Over & Over (2022),and Border Patrol Agent Hawkins in The Wall.
