Biography

Avery relocated to Detroit in August 2014 to assume the role of the inaugural full-time employee at Banza, harmoniously integrating his entrepreneurial inclinations with his profound passion for cuisine. Since his arrival, he has devoted himself to working tirelessly, immersed in every aspect of the business, often putting in grueling hours that would exhaust even the most stalwart individuals.

Despite the demanding nature of his responsibilities, Avery derives immense satisfaction from collaborating with his colleagues to build something tangible from the ground up, reveling in the excitement that comes with shaping a vision into a reality. Prior to joining Banza, Avery's entrepreneurial endeavors began to take shape during his high school years, when he founded RelightNY, a nationally recognized environmental charity that successfully raised a staggering $250,000 to procure and distribute energy-efficient light bulbs to low-income families in New York City.

In his senior year of college, Avery lent his support to his brother, assisting him in launching The Nugget Spot, a popular fast-casual restaurant in Manhattan. When he is not working, Avery can be found engaging in his favorite pastime, basketball, or honing his culinary skills by teaching himself how to cook.

Avery graduated from Cornell University in 2014, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, and is a proud member of the 2014 Venture for America class.
