Bailey Kobe's biography:
From humble beginnings, Bailey never planned for a career in entertainment. His mischievous writings often got him sent to the principal's office, but also made him a force to be reckoned with as a high school speech writer, cartoonist, and editor of the school paper.
He varied his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California, exploring science, business, television, and narrative and creative writing, gaining a unique skill in story and novel adaptation for the screen.
One of his favored mediums was comic books. As a senior, he directed a single-camera documentary called Comics Conquer Cinema, starring Stan Lee and many early comic book-to-screen creatives.
With his insight into adaptation, story development, and screenwriting, Bailey worked for industry greats such as Gareth Wigan at Sony Pictures and Robert Newman at ICM.
He was referred to USC's elite Peter Stark Program, where he excelled in filmmaking and development, earning coveted production TA-ships, the National Association of Theater Owners Scholarship, and the Peter Stark Special Project Grant for directing.
To supplement a lack of comedy development, Bailey attended the Upright Citizens Brigade writing program, learning to incorporate collaboration into unique scene work.
He formed a company, Double Entente Films, with Stark classmate Frederic Imbert, creating commercials and music videos for various brands.
Bailey is currently adapting an Oprah's Top Booklist novel for the screen and has been featured in several film festivals, earning Best Director awards and recognition in various publications.
