Barker White's fascination with filmmaking dates back to his childhood, where he would spend his days selling stories to tourists on the beach, sparking a passion that would only continue to grow.
He pursued his interests in a more formal setting, enrolling at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where he majored in both Film/Broadcasting and Philosophy, doubling down on his creative and intellectual pursuits.
During his time at the university, White had the opportunity to work alongside his mentor, renowned French Director Dr. Jean Bodon, as an unaccredited editor on the film E=mc3, which premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
This experience not only solidified White's desire to direct feature-length films but also provided him with invaluable insight into the craft.
White's directorial debut, the award-winning documentary Beyond Pollution, has been showcased at over a dozen festivals worldwide and was even included in an Oscar showcase about the BP Gulf Oil Spill in 2010.
As a producer, White has worked on a range of critically acclaimed projects, including the mini-series The World Wars and the Making of the Mob, which aired on AMC, as well as multiple films, including Impact Earth and Here Comes Rusty.
As a member of the Director's Guild of America, White has had the privilege of working alongside and learning from some of the industry's most talented and experienced professionals.
His work on major studio movies, such as Escape Plan, 2 Guns, and American Ultra, has honed his skills in directing and producing high-quality films with high production values, regardless of budget.
Additionally, White has worked on a number of art-directed projects, including Ghost Shark and Arachnaquake for the Sy Fy Channel, further refining his abilities to adapt to any production environment.
