Barnabas Reti is a renowned Hungarian actor, best known for his captivating portrayal of Erik, the romantic male lead and bad-boy, in the country's number one TV-series, Baratok kozt.
Born in 1982 in Szeged, Hungary, Reti's early life was marked by his impressive talent in drawing and painting, leading many to assume he would pursue a career in the arts. As a teenager, he even illustrated for local newspapers, but his true passion lay in acting and film.
After completing his education, Reti began his acting journey by attending a drama school in Budapest, where he honed his craft and gained valuable experience in various theaters. His breakthrough role came when he was cast by acclaimed director Peter Greenaway to play a young fascist soldier in his film, shot on location in Hungary.
Reti's subsequent roles included a minor on-screen part in the Academy Award-winning film, Being Julia, directed by Istvan Szabo, where he played the gay lover of Bruce Greenwood. He then attended an acting for film course at the New York Film Academy in the United States, before returning to Europe to establish his own theater company, Noir Színház, with a group of young artists.

One of his most notable stage performances was in a production of Stephen King's Misery, which became a huge hit and transferred from a small studio to the prestigious Karinthy Theatre in Budapest. In his last performance in Hungary, Reti took on the title role in Albert Camus' classic, Caligula, before moving to London to pursue more international opportunities. He has since appeared in a number of notable productions, including Sky Vision's TV crime-docu series, Killers - Behind the Myth, and has worked alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation.
Reti is currently starring in the NBC Universal series, Emerald City, and filming a British feature, Three Dots and a Dash, in which he plays the lead villain, Vogler Kassir.
