Béchir Sylvain is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry as an actor, writer, director, and producer. He has played a variety of roles, including "Glock" in the Starz hit series BMF season3 and "Roman" in the BET+ comedy mystery series Diarra From Detroit.
Sylvain is a lifetime member of The Actors Studio and has a strong educational background in drama, having studied at Southern Methodist University. He is also the creator of the award-winning web series Make it happen.
Throughout his career, Sylvain has performed in numerous productions, including Arizona Theater Company, Gablestage, American Stage, Summer Shorts, Ground Up & Rising, Gorilla Theater, and Theater 68. He has received several awards for his performances, including a Best Ensemble NAACP Theater Award for his portrayal of Malcolm X in the play "The Meeting" and a Best Actor Obie Award for his performance as Jay "The Sport" Jackson in the theatrical production of The Royale.
In addition to his stage work, Sylvain has also had a successful television career, appearing in shows such as Blindspotting, Black Summer, Swat, Rookies:Feds, This is us, Chicago, PD, Better Call Saul, Black-ish, Grace and Frankie, Fuller House, and The Mick. He has also had supporting roles in films like Haitian wedding and The Ultimate Life, as well as in the Hallmark drama.
Sylvain is fluent in French and Haitian Creole and has appeared in numerous national and regional commercials. He was the inaugural grand prize winner of the ABC Discovers showcase and has won Best Actor at the American Black Film Festival.
