Bella King, a talented and ambitious young writer, director, and actress, is quickly gaining recognition within the entertainment industry. Born in Ronan, Montana, she began her acting career at the age of six, performing in community theater productions in the Chicago area. As she worked on set, her curiosity and fascination with the creative process led her to start writing, and at 13, she penned a pilot for a television sitcom under the mentorship of producer Adam Lapidus.
Lapidus, who has worked on various Disney projects, continued to guide and support Bella, and she recently signed a "shopping agreement" for her new pilot. The entrepreneurial teenager's first film as a writer and director is a short film titled Unmatched, which has been featured in several film festivals, including the Burbank International Film Festival and the San Diego Film Festival.
Unmatched tells the story of a young girl who is left homeless after the death of her mother and the abandonment of her alcoholic father. The film follows her journey as she tries to overcome her heartbreak and survive one more night alone. Starring Caitlin Carmichael and Aleks Paunovic, the short film was written by a then 15-year-old Bella, who raised money through crowd funding and recruited support from friends, family, and local businesses.
At just 16 years old, Bella has already appeared in several films, including Beneath the Blue with Paul Wesley, Beautiful Boy opposite Meatloaf and Michael Sheen, and Red Riding Hood opposite Gary Oldman. She has also had roles in television shows such as Eureka, Smallville, and Leverage.
Despite her busy schedule, Bella still prioritizes her education and is set to graduate from high school early this year. When she's not on set or meeting with producers, she enjoys using her Disneyland annual pass, shopping at thrift stores, dancing, horseback riding, swimming, and training for runDisney's half marathon.
Bella plans to apply to the University of Southern California (USC) to pursue a degree in Cinema & Media Studies. She currently resides in Studio City, California with her family, and her future is filled with exciting opportunities and possibilities.
