Ben Lee's illustrious career in the entertainment industry began in 1993, when he took the stage as the lead singer of the indie rock band "Noise Addict", a group of four friends from Sydney who were just 14 years old at the time. The band was signed to "Fellaheen Records" in the same year, a notable achievement considering the average age of the group.
Ben Lee's association with influential figures in the music industry continued to grow, as Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore also signed the band to his label, "Ecstatic Peace". Additionally, Mike D of the Beastie Boys signed "Noise Addict" to the young label "Grand Royal Records" in 1994.
Ben Lee's solo career took off with the release of his debut album "Grandpaw Would" in March 1995, when he was just 16 years old. He went on to release two more albums, "Something To Remember Me By" in 1997 and "Breathing Tornados" in 1999. Notably, "Breathing Tornados" featured collaborations with Harmony Korine and Petra Haden.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Ben Lee made his film debut in 2003, starring alongside Rose Byrne in "The Rage in Placid Lake", a film directed by Tony McNamara.
