Ben E. Loggins is a multifaceted professional with a diverse range of skills and experience in the film industry. Throughout his career, he has taken on various roles, including Executive Supervising Producer, Producer, First Unit Director, Second Unit Director, 1st Assistant Director, Stunt Coordinator, and Stuntman.
Ben's professional journey began in the 1970s, after he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and pursued postgraduate studies in mortgage banking and finance. He went on to start, own, and operate a successful commercial mortgage banking and real estate development and management company.
However, a chance encounter with his childhood best friend at his 10-year high school reunion led Ben to make a life-changing decision to sell his company and transition to a career in the film industry.
Ben's entry into the film industry was marked by his work as a Stuntman and Special Effects Technician. He later advanced to the roles of Stunt Coordinator and Second Unit Director, which were a natural progression of his skills and experience.
Today, Ben primarily works as an Executive Supervising Producer, Second Unit Director, 1st Assistant Director, and Supervising Stunt Coordinator. His extensive experience has earned him the nickname "Papa Bear" from his peers on set.
Ben's responsibilities during the Development Stage of a film include preparing the shooting schedule, line item budget, film incentive, and financial package. In the Production Stage, he is responsible for keeping the film on schedule, setting up action sequences, and coordinating with the director to ensure that the planned shots are executed.
During the Post Production Editing Stage, Ben coordinates with the editors and director to ensure that the best images are presented to the screen in a timely manner. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including films, TV shows, shorts, music videos, and documentaries, such as Selena, Dallas, Walker Texas Ranger, Robo Cop, Miss Congeniality, Tender Mercies, Boy's Don't Cry, The Walking Dead, Transformers, The Gifted, Queen of the South, Havana Darkness, Welcome to Acapulco, and The Chosen Seasons 1-4.
Throughout his career, Ben has been nominated for two SAG Awards and has worked on numerous independent feature films.
