Ben Spies, a renowned professional motorcycle road racer, was born on July 11, 1984, in Memphis, Tennessee. He is affectionately known as "Elbowz" due to his distinctive riding style, where his elbows protrude outward, setting him apart from his peers.

Ben's passion for motorcycle racing began at a young age, and he started competing on Yamaha YSR50cc bikes with the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association in Texas when he was just 8 years old. His talent and dedication to the sport eventually led him to turn pro in the year 2000.

Throughout his illustrious career, Ben has achieved numerous accolades, including winning the AMA Superbike Championship for Yoshimura Suzuki in 2006. He successfully defended his title in 2007 and 2008, cementing his status as a top-tier road racer.
