Benjamin Sprunger was born in Bluffton, Ohio to Mennonite parents. His extensive career spans over two decades, boasting a diverse range of performances, from live stage shows in both Chicago and Los Angeles to notable television and film appearances, as well as national commercials and print advertisements.
Although currently residing in Chicago, Benjamin spent six years in Los Angeles from 2001 to 2006, during which time he made his network television debut on the ABC sitcom "It's All Relative" in 2004. He also appeared in several short films and made a daytime television appearance on NBC's "Passions" in 2006. Throughout his time in LA, he consistently worked in theatre, taking the stage in productions at esteemed venues such as the Secret Rose, Greenway Court, Hudson, Blank, Whitefire, and The Ivar.
Notably, Benjamin appeared in David Lee's 2001 production of "Do I Hear a Waltz?" at the Pasadena Playhouse alongside Broadway veteran Carol Lawrence, Tony Award-winner Anthony Crivello, Alyson Reed, Elmarie Wendel, Jack Riley, and Annie Wersching.
Upon his return to Chicago, Benjamin has continued to work with a variety of esteemed organizations, including Raven, House, Northlight, 16th Street, Goodman, Victory Gardens, TimeLine, Steppenwolf, Strawdog, Griffin, Steep, Haven, CityLit, and Music Theater Works. He also holds the position of Artistic Associate at About Face Theatre, having appeared in nine productions with the company since 2000.
One of his most notable roles to date is his portrayal of Will's boyfriend's sister's fiancé in two Thanksgiving episodes of the popular television show "Will & Grace" in 2004.
Benjamin Sprunger is a 1997 graduate of Otterbein University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music, Theatre, and Dance.
