Tim Benton is a renowned actor, known for his diverse and extensive filmography, including notable roles in "Our Flag Means Death", "Mr and Mrs Smith", "American Horror Story: Hotel", "For All Mankind", "Shameless", "In Her Shoes", "School And Board", "Safety Geeks: SVI", "The Annunciation", "How I Met Your Mother", "Trouble Is My Business", "Highway To Hell", and "Macon County War".
With a career spanning over three decades, Benton has earned an impressive 27 Best Actor Awards from international film festivals for his portrayal of Rabbi in the film "The Annunciation". He began acting at the tender age of seven, playing his childhood hero Robin Hood in a school play, and later reprised the role in a professional theatrical production, choreographing the fight sequences.
A 4th generation Texan, Benton fulfilled his childhood dream of performing in Alamo movies, starring in not one, but two films based on the historic event. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre arts from Texas Christian University, with additional studies in cinematography, and further honed his skills at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, The Film Actors Lab in Dallas, DeVera Marcus' Improv Class in Los Angeles, and numerous voice-over coaches.
Throughout his career, Benton has performed in over 100 stage productions and national tours, including 25 years with his award-winning sketch comedy act, "The Gunfighters", which garnered over 6,000 performances across the country. He has also been a member of the hit Sketch Comedy troupe "Good Spanky" and a charter member of the SkyPilot Theatre company, starring in critically acclaimed productions such as "Taking Sides", "Death And The Maiden", and "Requiem For A Heavyweight".
Benton's impressive range has allowed him to portray a wide variety of characters, from psychokillers and FBI agents to farmers, butlers, and even Hitler, whom he has played five times. He has also worked as an historical consultant, historical military technical advisor, and fight director, showcasing his versatility and dedication to his craft.
