Biography

Bill Leimbach has accumulated an impressive 25-year tenure in the film and television production industry. His most recent feature film endeavor, the highly acclaimed and commercially successful World War I epic, Beneath Hill 60, garnered an astonishing 12 Australian Film Award nominations, including the prestigious accolades of Best Film, Best Director, and Best Script.

Moreover, his production of the short comedy Departure Lounge - A Bollywood Affair received the coveted award of Best Comedy in 2015 at the Australian Film Institute Social Shorts Awards.

Following his university education in California, Bill pursued formal training at Film School in London and subsequently honed his skills with the BBC. He spent a decade working within the UK film industry before relocating his production company to Australia in the 1980s.

Since his relocation, Bill has produced an impressive portfolio of over 25 films for renowned networks such as National Geographic, Discovery, PBS, BBC, ABC, SBS, and Australian commercial television networks 7, 9, and 10.

Currently, Bill is actively developing a new historically-based feature film, Banjo & Matilda, which will be directed and written by Morgan O'Neill. The screenplay was initially penned by Beneath Hill 60 writer, David Roach.
