Birsa Dasgupta is a renowned Indian film director, hailing from the vibrant city of Tollywood. His journey in the film industry began in 2003, when he joined Anurag Kashyap's team as a unit director for the film Black Friday, which was released in 2004. One of the most notable aspects of his work on Black Friday was the music video he directed for the song "Arey Ruk Ja Re Bandeh" from the film's soundtrack album, featuring the talented band Indian Ocean. This music video caught the attention of many and marked a significant milestone in Dasgupta's career.
Despite having the opportunity to work on a national level, Dasgupta's passion for making films in his native Bengali language led him to create Bengali telefilms. In 2006, he produced two telefilms, Ekti Romharshak Dakatir Golpo and K, exclusively for Bengali music channel Tara Muzik.
