Bjørn Johnson is a seasoned actor with over 30 years of professional experience in both stage and screen productions. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Literature from George Williams College in Illinois.
Throughout his career, Bjørn has had the opportunity to star in numerous theater productions, including the critically acclaimed US premiere of Trio in Los Angeles, Cyrano: The Musical on Broadway, and the first national tour of Les Misérables, which he performed in for an impressive 22 months.
In addition to his stage work, Bjørn has also made numerous television appearances, including guest roles on hit shows such as Dexter, Mad Men, ER, The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck, Law and Order, Criminal Minds, and Chuck.
His film credits range from the psychologically twisted horror/thriller The Hunger to the cult comedy favorite Beerfest, in which he played the memorable role of Herr Schniedelwichsen. He has also appeared in numerous national television commercials for brands such as GEICO, Castrol, Nature Made, and Budweiser.
As a singer, Bjørn has a tenor voice and has trained with V. William Reed. He has also worked as a stage combat and fight choreographer for the Metropolitan Opera and the Boston Opera, using his skills to bring productions to life.
Bjørn's experience in stage fighting dates back to his apprenticeship under the renowned fight choreographer B.H. Barry, during which he attended a master class with the legendary actress Coleen Dewhurst. Dewhurst's words of wisdom, "Do something for your craft every day. Do something for your business, your show business, every single day," have had a lasting impact on Bjørn's approach to his work.
After spending 15 years in New York City, furthering his studies at institutions such as Circle-In-The-Square Conservatory, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and Juilliard School of Drama and Opera Programs, Bjørn opened his own acting studio in Los Angeles in 2001.
Today, Bjørn continues to push himself and his students to take on challenging and scary projects that force self-discovery and growth. As those who have worked with him can attest, Bjørn approaches every role and his life with an unmistakable joie de vivre.
