Bjorn Jorg Walter Steinbach, a South African native from Port Elizabeth, marked the beginning of his academic journey by graduating from Grey High School in 2002. Subsequently, he pursued higher education at the University of Cape Town, where he studied psychology, matriculating in 2003.
However, his academic path took an unexpected turn in 2005 when he participated in Fear Factor: South Africa. In 2006, Bjorn left the University of Cape Town and enrolled in CityVarsity, dedicating himself to the study of acting.
Furthermore, he seized the opportunity to hone his craft at the prestigious Esper Studio in New York, participating in their summer program in 2008. His professional breakthrough came in the same year with the release of the short film Small Killing, which was filmed and aired in South Africa.
Bjorn's international recognition began to take shape with his role in the HBO original mini-series Generation Kill (2008),a 7-part production that dramatized the experiences of the 1st Recon Marine Battalion during the initial phase of the Iraq War. He convincingly portrayed Cpl. Michael Stinetorf in all 7 episodes.
Since then, Bjorn has continued to build his resume with appearances in the made-for-TV movie Natalie Holloway (2009),which aired on USA Network, and The Philanthropist (2009),a series that premiered on NBC.
