Blake Winston Rice is a renowned film director and screenwriter, hailing from New Jersey and a graduate of Rowan University. Prior to transitioning to narrative directing in 2018, he began his career as an actor and comedian, showcasing his talents in front of the camera.
Blake's career has flourished with the critically acclaimed drama Steps, which earned its place as an Official Selection at the prestigious Sidewalk Film Festival and won the Special Grand Jury Award at the renowned DeadCenter Film Festival in 2022. Additionally, he completed the single-shot dramatic thriller Sawdust in 2023, which is now available on Omeleto.
In 2024, Blake premiered his breakout film, the 1990's dramedy Tea, starring the talented Michael Gandolfini, in competition at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival. Tea has been selected into an impressive 13 Oscar-Qualifying film festivals, garnering awards at the Charlotte, Hollyshorts, Yellowstone International, Bushwick, and Micheaux Film Festivals. Notably, the film boasts Patty Jenkins as an Executive Producer.
Currently, Blake is represented by Kaplan Perrone Management and has completed his upcoming film DISC, starring the accomplished Jim Cummings and Victoria Ratermanis. Furthermore, his debut feature film, The Empty Lot, is currently in development, alongside his follow-up feature, Valves.
