Named "Hollywood's most successful spec screenwriter", Blake Snyder embarked on his illustrious Hollywood career at a remarkably young age. His father, Kenneth C.T.Snyder, was an Emmy-winning television producer, responsible for creating numerous popular children's shows during the 1960s and 1970s, including The Funny Company, Hot Wheels, animated segments on Sesame Street, Big Blue Marble, and the cult classic Roger Ramjet.
Snyder went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Georgetown University, after which he returned to Los Angeles, where he began his career writing for the Disney television series Kids Incorporated. Snyder's dedication to his craft ultimately led him to become a full-time screenwriter in 1987, with over 20 years of membership in the esteemed Writers Guild of America.
Snyder's remarkable career milestones began with his first spec screenplay sale in 1989, for the script Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, which sold for a staggering $500,000 in a highly competitive bidding war. Following this groundbreaking achievement, he went on to sell an impressive 12 original screenplays, including million-dollar script sales of Blank Check, co-written with Colby Carr for Walt Disney Pictures, and Nuclear Family, co-written with James Haggin for Steven Spielberg/Amblin Entertainment.
