Born on March 19, 1947, in Berlin, Germany, Boris Efimovich Groys is a multidisciplinary scholar and academic, renowned for his expertise in the fields of art criticism, media theory, and philosophy.
As a professor of Russian and Slavic Studies at New York University, Groys imparts his knowledge to students, while also serving as a senior research fellow at the prestigious Academy of Design in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Throughout his illustrious career, Groys has held various professorial positions at esteemed institutions, including the Academy of Design/Center for Art and Media Technology (HfG/ZKM) in Karlsruhe, Germany, where he taught Aesthetics, Art History, and Media Theory.
