Brad Sykes is a renowned filmmaker and author, residing in Los Angeles, California. His journey in the film industry began during his high school days in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he wrote and directed numerous shorts and features on video, including The Pact and Dreams of the Dead. After graduating cum laude from Boston University's film program, Sykes moved to Los Angeles and worked in production and development for prominent companies such as Paramount Pictures, Scott Free, and Full Moon Entertainment.
Sykes made his professional writing and directing debut with the horror comedy Scream Queen, starring the iconic Linnea Quigley. Since then, he has written and directed over twenty-five feature films, including the groundbreaking digital 3D horror movie, Camp Blood. The Camp Blood franchise has become one of the longest-running and most successful indie horror franchises, with Sykes also directing the first two sequels, Camp Blood 2 and Within the Woods, also known as Camp Blood 3.
Sykes' impressive filmography also includes Death Factory, which was the distributor's all-time top-grossing title and later received a sequel. His other notable writing and directing credits include Goth, Mad Jack, Demon's Kiss, Plaguers, which won the Best Screenplay award at the 2008 Estepona Film Festival and Best Actor Steve Railsback at the 2008 Shockerfest, Hi-8: Horror Independent Eight, and its sequel Hi-Death. Sykes also executive produced Joe Dante's Burying the Ex, starring Anton Yelchin and Alexandra Daddario.
