Brandon Oldenburg, a multi-talented individual, is an award-winning illustrator, designer, sculptor, and film director. He co-founded Moonbot Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, which has been the hub of his creative endeavors.
Oldenburg's impressive filmography includes The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore (2011),an animated short film that won an Academy Award for its portrayal of the therapeutic powers of storytelling. This groundbreaking film was followed by The Scarecrow (2013),a film and game experience for Chipotle Mexican Grill, which earned him an Emmy Award for his directorial work.
His other notable film projects include The Raven (2014),a short film based on Edgar Allan Poe's poem, which received an Annie Award nomination. He also collaborated with Dolby Laboratories on Silent (2014),a film featuring Mr. Morris Lessmore, which won an Emmy Award. Furthermore, Oldenburg adapted The Numberlys (2013),a bestselling picture book and Webby Award-winning app, into a film.
As the co-host of TCM Movie Camp, a program on Turner Classic Movies, Oldenburg, alongside Moonbot co-founder William Joyce, aims to inspire a love of classic movies and filmmaking in young audiences.
Oldenburg's artistic skills have been showcased on the covers of books by renowned authors such as Elmore Leonard and Michael Chabon. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumni of the Year award from Ringling College of Art and Design, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration in 1995. Oldenburg currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the same institution.
