Brendee Green is a multifaceted Canadian artist, embodying the roles of actor, writer, singer, and director. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she is one of five children, with a rich cultural heritage of Polish-Jewish and British descent.
As a child, Brendee demonstrated an innate passion for acting, and her interest in the craft only intensified as she grew older. She began formal training in theatre during her teenage years at Westmount Collegiate High School, under the guidance of esteemed thespian Andrew Dolha.
Brendee furthered her education by completing her formal Theatre training at York University. However, her academic journey was marked by a significant personal setback when her mother passed away, and she later experienced a brain aneurysm and underwent brain surgery in 2011. In the aftermath of this challenging period, Brendee took a temporary hiatus from school, during which she auditioned for the recurring role of Denise Rookie Blue, securing her first speaking role in film and television.
This pivotal moment rekindled Brendee's determination and passion for her career, and she returned to York University to complete her undergraduate degree in theatre the following year. She continued to hone her craft through training and performances in film and television, exploring various artistic modalities along the way.
Brendee's artistic expression extends beyond acting, as she is an avid creator who enjoys painting, refinishing furniture, playing guitar, and songwriting. Her insatiable curiosity and artistic drive have led her to pursue further training in Jazz Vocals, Musical Theatre, and dance. A Shakespeare enthusiast, some of her most notable theatre roles include Portia (Julius Caesar) and Rosalind (As You Like It).
