Breonna Taylor, a victim of police brutality and misconduct in 2020, was born on June 5, 1993, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was raised by her mother, Tamika Palmer, and her boyfriend, Trory Herrod, in Louisville, Kentucky, where she spent her formative years.
Taylor attended local schools in Louisville, receiving a well-rounded education that would serve as a foundation for her future endeavors. She graduated from Western High School in 2011, marking a significant milestone in her academic journey.
Following her high school graduation, Taylor briefly attended the University of Kentucky, where she explored her academic interests and began to formulate her career goals. However, she ultimately decided to pursue a career in the medical field, driven by her passion for helping others.
Taylor's medical career was marked by dedication and hard work. She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for the city of Louisville, providing critical care services to those in need. Additionally, she was employed full-time as an Emergency Room Technician (ERT) by Jewish East Medical Center, where she honed her skills and gained valuable experience.
In her free time, Taylor worked part-time as a Practicing Registered Nurse (PRN) for Norton Healthcare, further solidifying her commitment to a career in nursing. Despite her aspirations to become a nurse, Taylor's life was tragically cut short when she was fatally shot by police officers in her own home, a devastating loss that shocked and saddened her loved ones and the community at large.
