Brett W. Bachman is a talented film editor, renowned for his impressive work in independent genre cinema. His films have made a significant impact by premiering at prestigious international film festivals, such as the Sundance Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the South by Southwest Film Festival.
One of his most notable projects is the editing of the film Mandy, starring Nicolas Cage and Andrea Riseborough. Directed by Panos Cosmatos, the film made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, garnering widespread acclaim. It went on to win the prestigious Saturn Award for Best Independent Film.
Bachman has a long-standing collaboration with the producers at SpectreVision, working on nine of their feature films, including several as an Associate Producer. His recent work includes the 2019 feature film adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's Color Out of Space.
In 2020, his third film with Nicolas Cage, Pig, was acquired for US domestic release by Neon, a prominent film distribution company.
Bachman's passion for editing began during his high school years, when he directed a series of feature-length documentaries. At just twenty-two years old, he was one of the youngest members of his AFI Conservatory class. In addition to his work on feature films, Bachman also edits commercials for prominent brands and artists, including Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Taco Bell, Under Armour, Staples, BioFreeze, and Mercedes-Benz.
As a member of IATSE Local 700, Bachman is represented by UTA and resides in Los Angeles.
