Brigitte Berman has just concluded work on a thought-provoking documentary film, Hugh Hefner's After Dark: Speaking out in America, which premiered in 2018.
This accomplished filmmaker has also recently completed another documentary, The River of My Dreams: A Portrait of Gordon Pinsent, in 2017.
Throughout her illustrious career, Berman has been recognized for her outstanding work in the documentary film genre. One of her most notable achievements was the creation of Artie Shaw: Time Is All You've Got, a 1985 documentary that went on to win the prestigious Academy Award for Best Documentary (feature).
In addition to her Oscar-winning film, Berman has also directed several other notable documentaries, including Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel, which was released in 2009, and Bix: 'Ain't None of Them Play Like Him Yet', a 1981 documentary that showcased the remarkable talent of jazz musician Bix Beiderbecke.
