Brooke McCarter was born on April 22, 1963, with his father serving as the namesake and his mother, Maria, being his maternal figure. He had a sister named Melissa and a brother named Robert, with his family having a rich history in the entertainment industry. His grandfather was a renowned Vaudeville actor, and his father was a skilled drummer, making it natural for Brooke to develop a passion for music.
As a young boy, Brooke ventured into modeling, winning the prestigious "New Faces" model contest at the age of 14. He was an athletic individual who received a racquetball scholarship to attend college, where he also studied communications. However, Brooke's academic pursuits took a backseat when he decided to pursue his passion for acting in New York City.
Brooke's early career was marked by a series of notable roles, including appearances in the new "The Twilight Zone" (1985) episode "Joy Ride/Shelter Skelter/Private Channel" (1987) and the cult classic film "The Lost Boys" (1987),where he played the character Paul. During the filming of "The Lost Boys," Brooke developed a close friendship with his co-star Corey Haim and went on to become his manager throughout the 1990s.
In addition to his acting career, Brooke was also a talented musician. He worked on the soundtrack for the documentary "America the Violent" and is credited as a composer. The song "You Make Me Feel" was re-recorded in Long Beach, California, by Carlee Knight. Brooke also collaborated with Ali Handal on the track "Dirty Little Secret" and later returned to making documentary films.
In 2002, Brooke directed the documentary "Leaves of Green." He also played drums with the band for several performances of the song "Cry Little Sister," which was featured on the soundtrack of "The Lost Boys." Additionally, Brooke worked with director Herschell Gordon Lewis on "The Uh Oh Show."
Sadly, Brooke McCarter passed away on December 22, 2015, in Tampa, Florida, due to complications from Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency.
