Born in the year 1961, Sergen emerged from a family rich in artistic heritage, his father being a renowned opera singer and his mother a talented theatre actress. This charismatic individual, Sergen, embarked on his educational journey at the esteemed Theatre Department of Hacettepe University, having completed his middle school and high school studies with distinction. Upon graduating, he took the stage in numerous theatre venues, making his debut with the prestigious State Theatres in the year 1985.
