Cam "Buzz" Brainard, a native of Flint, Michigan, spent his formative years in the Great Lakes State before pursuing higher education at Central Michigan University. Following his academic endeavors, Buzz relocated to New York City, where he spent the late 1980s refining his skills and building connections.
In the subsequent years, Buzz made the bold decision to relocate to the west coast, driven by his passion for golf and the desire to indulge in the sport year-round. This move allowed him to cultivate a new sense of purpose and direction, ultimately leading him to host the popular weekly syndicated show "Altville" on KZLA, which features a diverse and eclectic mix of alternative country and Americana music.
As the show's host, Buzz has had the privilege of showcasing the talents of renowned artists such as Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Kasey Chambers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Robert Earl Keen, Jack Ingram, Emmylou Harris, and many others.
In addition to his work in the music industry, Buzz is a self-proclaimed sports enthusiast, which has made him an ideal host for "This Week in Baseball" on Fox. His versatility has also led him to take on various other roles, including voice work for the Disney Channel, hosting duties for "Breed All About It" on Animal Planet, and the role of smart aleck-narrator for "Maximum Exposure".
When not working, Buzz can be found enjoying his downtime at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, Las Vegas, or the Whitsett Driving Range. He shares his life with his loving wife Sandy, and their precocious blonde-haired son Hank, as well as their two canine companions, Frankie and Gibby, who were named after the legendary baseball player Kirk Gibson.
