Carla Valentine is a native New Yorker of Honduran descent, who embarked on her artistic journey by training at renowned institutions such as HB Studios, New Conservatory Theatre, and NYU's Creative Arts Team. She has had the privilege of performing on various stages in New York City, including Henry St. Settlement, Intar-53, PS 122, and the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe.
Since relocating to Los Angeles, Carla has made a significant impact in the commercial world, appearing in numerous national commercials. She has also made notable appearances on popular television shows such as "Love" and "Arrested Development".
Carla's film credits are extensive and impressive, featuring roles in "Lady Bird", "Stronger Than Pretty", "Night of the Dead", "Gone", "Dust", "The Pill", "Amexica", "Bad", and "Traces of Tragedy".
In the realm of LA theatre, Carla has showcased her talents in productions such as "Cumbia DE mi Corazon" and "La Casa De Bernarda Alba" at the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts, the west coast premiere of Charles Busch's "Our Leading Lady", the west coast premiere of "Power in The Blood" by Sarah Bewley, "Kissin' up to Mr. Bliss" and "A Hill Too High" by Susan C. Hunter, Josefina Lopez's "The Cleaning Lady" at Casa 0101, Suzan Lori Parks' "365 Days/Plays Festival" with the Mad Scene Theatre Company, "The Chinese Massacre" with the Circle X Theatre Company, "Splendor in the Grass" with the Underground Theatre Company, and originated the lead role of Emma in "Shout out Above Life's Storms, I have Wings to Fly" by Meme Kelly.
Carla has also participated in the Hollywood Fringe Festivals with "Don't Talk About it, Spit About it" by Alex Alpharaoh and "Life's A Bitch And So Am I" by Touch Brandon, in which she starred, produced, and co-directed.
Furthermore, Carla frequently performs a one-woman historical presentation of Biddy Mason (1818-1891),a presentation she developed with the Pasadena Museum of History.
