Carlito Emmanuel Olivero, a talented artist from Chicago, Illinois, has a rich cultural heritage of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent. Growing up, his parents instilled in him a deep appreciation for music and dance, which has been an integral part of his life since childhood.
As a bilingual artist, Carlito has been performing in both English and Spanish since the age of 5, driven by a passion to share his love of music with the world. In 2007, he responded to a Craigslist ad and auditioned for the lead vocalist role in the Latin Pop group Menudo, which led to his appearance on the MTV reality television series "Making Menudo."
The 2007 lineup of Menudo was the first to feature a new age cap of 20, and Carlito, along with four other talented Latin hopefuls, formed the new group. They signed with Sony Music and released their debut singles "Lost" and "More Than Words," touring extensively in support of the album. Although the group disbanded the following year, Carlito continued to pursue his singing career and acting ambitions.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles, Carlito was cast as a lead in the teen-based film "We The Party" (2012) and later auditioned for the hit TV show "X Factor" on Fox. He finished as a TOP 3 finalist and became one of the first Latino contestants to participate on the show, earning the hearts of fans worldwide.
Carlito has continued to grow as an actor and songwriter, appearing in the HULU original series "East Los High" (Seasons 3 & 4) and starring in two major films released in 2017. His debut album, "Dreams Don't Become Reality While Sleeping," was released on July 16, 2015, and his highly anticipated second album, "V2," is scheduled to drop in mid-2017.
With his unique blend of Urban-based Rhythmic Pop and occasional Spanish language, Carlito's music sets him apart from other male vocalists in the current pop/R&B landscape.
