Carmen Marrón, a multifaceted creative force, is a self-taught writer, director, and producer who made a profound impact with her debut indie feature, "Go For It!", which was distributed by Lionsgate and showcased in theaters across the United States.
Inspired by her own experiences growing up as an inner-city street dancer in Chicago, Marrón poured her heart and soul into the film, not only writing and directing it but also editing, casting the actors, and co-composing the theme song for the dance drama.
Marrón's passion for filmmaking was ignited while working as a guidance counselor for high-risk elementary school children in Phoenix, Arizona. She envisioned creating stories that would resonate with her Latinx students, inspiring them to make a positive change in their lives. The New York Times praised "Go For It!" as "an unpretentious rite-of-passage drama, thanks to the supple script and capable direction of Carmen Marrón, the driving force behind the film".
Beyond her work in the entertainment industry, Marrón is dedicated to supporting under-served youth, women, and the arts. She has been an international speaker for the US State Department, promoting public diplomacy through her work in Latino Cinema and Education in Latin American countries.
