Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, this remarkable individual's journey began with her education at New Bedford High School, where her passion for dance was already evident. Even before graduating in 1942, she had taken the bold step of opening her own dance studio, where she shared her expertise with others.
Dancing was an integral part of her being, and she frequently performed at high school events, including the iconic Mexican Hat Dance, which held a special place in her heart. The years of World War II saw her move to Hollywood, where she became the protégée of the renowned Gene Kelly, whom she greatly admired.
Her impressive timing and unwavering dedication earned her a reputation as a talented dancer. However, her life was marked by the challenges of being a diabetic, which may have contributed to her untimely passing. Her personal life was filled with love and joy, as she married Larry Blyden in Hollywood, allegedly on the stage of a theatre, and went on to have two children.
Tragedy struck after her death, as her husband, Larry Blyden, took their children to Texas to be with relatives.
