Carol Hawkins is a blonde, beautiful, and extremely likable individual who first appeared on the screen in 1969 with a role in The Body Stealers. Although she began her career with a few film appearances, she is best remembered for her work in the popular "Carry On..." film series throughout the 1970s, alongside her role as Sharon Eversleigh in the TV series Please Sir! in 1968.
One of her most notable roles was in Carry on Abroad (1972),where she played Marge, a character paired with Lily, played by Sally Geeson, as they embark on a journey to a Spanish island with the rest of the "Carry On..." gang in search of love. Her performance was well-received and contributed significantly to the film's success.
Her memorable portrayal in Carry on Abroad led to her being asked back for a role in Carry on Behind (1975),although the film may not be considered one of the best in the series. Additionally, she appeared in Carry on Again Christmas (1970),solidifying her presence in the "Carry On..." franchise.
Carol also made a supporting appearance in the Carry on Laughing (1975) television series, further cementing her place in "Carry On..." history as a supporting "Carry Oner".
In recent years, with the decline of the British film industry, Carol found work in television, appearing in comedy series such as My Husband and I (1987). Although she hasn't done much work on television, she did appear in an episode of Doctors (2000) in 2004, playing the role of Pam Jordan in the episode "Getting On".
In recent times, Carol has made appearances at memorabilia events at the NEC in Birmingham, where fans can meet her and reminisce about her iconic roles in the "Carry On..." series.
