Carolina Hoyos is a multifaceted performer who has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry as a stage and film actor, director, voice artist, and musician. Her journey in the arts began as a childhood concert pianist, a talent that laid the foundation for her future endeavors.
She started her professional career by spending three seasons on MTV Hits in 2002. Her subsequent roles include Bonnie in Magnum P.I. in 2018, Antonella in Nicolas Winding Refn's series Too Old to Die Young in 2019, Juanita in The Family Business in 2018, and Guillermo in Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003.
Carolina has also made appearances in various films and television shows, such as Under the Silver Lake in 2018, Gene Simmons: Family Jewels in 2006, and Pharrell Williams' music video for the Oscar-nominated song "Happy." She has shared the stage with notable musicians like Edward Van Halen, Ryan Adams, and members of Guns N' Roses.
In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, Carolina is a talented musician who has released several songs, seven of which can be heard in the indigenous heist film The Great Salish Heist, scheduled for release in 2024. She is also a four-time Audiofile Earphones Award-Winning Audiobook Narrator.
Carolina's voice can be heard in various video games, including Fallout 76: Expeditions - The Pitt in 2022, Fallout 76: Expeditions - Atlantic City in 2023, and Fallout 76: Skyline Valley in 2024, where she voices characters like Orlando and Showmen, as well as Alex Guerra and Cultist.
Carolina was a Fellow in the Native American Media Alliance's 2019 Native American TV Writers Lab and earned a coveted spot on the LA County Artist Roster from 2019-2023. She was also a 2020 West Hollywood Directing Artist Grantee, a 2021 Peace Studio Creative Peacebuilder, and a 2023 CalCreative Artist-In-Residence.
The Celebration Theatre commissioned an original theater-film hybrid, Indigiqueer Identity: Reclaiming Past, Present and Future, in 2022, which Carolina was a part of. She was also a member of Shakespeare Acting Company Black Girls Luv The Bard in Fall 2021 and performed with various award-winning comedy troupes, including Conservation Comedy, Nightpantz, Mayflower Welcoming Committee, Dad Jeans, and Theater Artist Ensemble Native Voices at The Autry.
Carolina will be understudying the roles of Winona and Marian in the play Shane at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Summer 2025.
