Caroline Georgine Corr is a talented Irish musician and a member of the renowned pop/rock/Celtic group The Corrs, alongside her brother Jim, and sisters Andrea Corr and Sharon. Their parents, Gerry Corr and Jean Corr, were musicians themselves, and they encouraged each of their children to pursue a career in music.
Caroline's musical journey began at a very young age, with her father teaching her piano from a tender age. She also learned to play the bodhran, a traditional Celtic drum, while still a youngster. Although she didn't take up drumming until she was 18, she has since become an accomplished drummer for the group, complemented by her skills on the piano and backing vocals.
The Corrs siblings first performed together as a band when they auditioned for the musical film The Commitments in 1991. Their musical director, John Hughes, saw great potential in the band and became their manager. The group's music is heavily influenced by traditional Celtic sounds, as well as modern pop, with notable references to the Eagles and the Carpenters.
In 1994, The Corrs landed a recording contract with producer David Foster and Atlantic Records (USA). Their debut album, "Forgiven, Not Forgotten," was released in 1995, followed by "Talk on Corners" in 1997, "In Blue" in 2000, and "Borrowed Heaven" in 2004. To date, they have sold an impressive 30 million albums worldwide.
The Corrs have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music, including U2, Celine Dion, and the Rolling Stones. In fact, Mick Jagger has praised the group, stating, "They blew us, the Stones, off our own stage." The Corrs have also made appearances on popular TV shows such as Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and have produced an MTV-sponsored "Unplugged" video.
In her personal life, Caroline married Frank Woods in 2002 and has three children with him.
