Carolyn was born in Long Beach, California, and spent her formative teenage years honing her talents in singing and acting at Palm Springs High School. She then relocated to Los Angeles to pursue higher education, graduating from the prestigious UCLA Theatre Arts Department in 1972 with a specialization in acting.
Following several years of working as a professional actress, Carolyn discovered her true passion for screenwriting, and she began collaborating with her husband, Christopher Ames, as a professional screenwriting team. For nearly three decades, they worked tirelessly, crafting scripts for both television and feature films, embarking on grand adventures, and occasionally facing minor setbacks they would rather forget.
However, as they entered their late 40s, the onset of ageism in the industry became a significant challenge. The rise of reality programming provided an additional obstacle, prompting Carolyn and Chris to explore alternative career paths.
Carolyn subsequently transitioned into the financial services sector, drawn to the prospect of developing innovative financial planning strategies tailored to the unique needs of individuals with feast-or-famine lifestyles, commonly found in the entertainment industry. After working for several prominent financial institutions, she grew tired of being restricted to their product offerings.
In 2005, Carolyn decided to become an independent broker, and since then, she has dedicated herself to helping her clients, both within and outside the entertainment industry, protect and grow their assets.
