Catarina Vasconcelos, a multifaceted and accomplished individual, emerged into the world in Lisbon, Portugal, during the year 1986. Following the culmination of her academic endeavors, she successfully matriculated from the prestigious Fine Arts Academy in Lisbon, a renowned institution that has fostered the creative talents of numerous distinguished artists.

Years subsequent to her initial foray into the realm of filmmaking, Vasconcelos' inaugural feature-length production, aptly titled "A Metamorfose dos Pássaros" or "The Metamorphosis of Birds", finally made its much-anticipated cinematic debut at the prestigious Encounters section of the renowned Berlin International Film Festival, better known by its acronym Berlinale, in the year 2020, thus further consolidating her burgeoning status as a luminary in the world of cinema.
