Caterina Scorsone, a talented and accomplished Canadian-born actress, began her acting career at the tender age of eight on the beloved children's program, Mr. Dressup. As her star continued to rise, she co-starred alongside Kirsten Dunst, Rachael Leigh Cook, Hayden Christensen, and Merritt Wever in the critically acclaimed coming-of-age film, Strike! (1998),directed by the esteemed Sarah Kernochan.
Her impressive performance in Strike! paved the way for her to take on more challenging roles, including a troubled teen prostitute in the 1999 film, The Third Miracle, opposite Academy Award nominee Ed Harris. Scorsone's portrayal of Maria Witnowski earned her widespread recognition and critical acclaim.
In 1998, Scorsone landed the lead role of Michelle Parker in the hit Canadian television series, Power Play, for which she received her first Gemini nomination. She continued to make a name for herself in television, starring as the plucky Jess Mastriani on Lifetime's 1-800-Missing (2003),while simultaneously pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Literary Studies, Comparative Religions, and Philosophy at the University of Toronto.
After completing her degree, Scorsone relocated to Los Angeles, where she was cast as the recurring character Callie Wilkinson on STARZ Network's Crash (2008),opposite the late Dennis Hopper. Her impressive performance in Crash earned her a Gemini nomination.
In 2009, Scorsone starred as Alice in the acclaimed Syfy Network mini-series of the same name, opposite Oscar-nominated Kathy Bates. Her portrayal of Alice earned her a second Gemini nomination.
Following her success in Wonderland, Scorsone was cast in Martin Campbell's thriller, Edge of Darkness (2010),opposite Mel Gibson. She is currently in her third season as a series regular on the hit show Private Practice (2007),which has consistently topped the Thursday night time slot.
In addition to her acting career, Scorsone is also an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, proudly stating that she is "out and proud" and not "hiding in the closet." She currently resides in Los Angeles.
