Carl Harvey Greenblatt, also known as C.H. Greenblatt, was born on June 17, 1972, in Plano, Texas, USA. He is a writer and producer who has made a significant impact in the animation industry.
Greenblatt attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in advertising. After graduation, he worked as an art director for commercials in New York City.
However, his true passion was in cartooning, and he soon caught the attention of Steve Hillenburg, the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants. Hillenburg was impressed by Greenblatt's work and picked him to storyboard on the show. Greenblatt boarded the series from 1999 to 2003, following the completion of season 3.
He later returned to board and voice on a couple of episodes for seasons 4 and 5. Greenblatt is widely regarded as one of the greatest comedy writers of all time, with critics and fans praising his innovative comedic elements.
Scott Thill of Cartoon Brew praised Greenblatt as one of the most influential comedy writers, and James Poniewozik of Time credited him with defining SpongeBob's comedic style. Greenblatt was also one of the writers of the iconic SpongeBob episode "Band Geeks," which is often considered the best episode of the series.
Greenblatt's work on SpongeBob SquarePants was not limited to just writing. He also brought his unique voice to the show, and his characters are still beloved by fans today.
After his successful run on SpongeBob, Greenblatt went on to work on other projects, including Chowder and Fish Hooks. He is currently executive producing Jellystone at Warner Brothers and is a recurring voice actor on Mexiguin.
In addition to his work in animation, Greenblatt is also a mentor to a native of Mahwah, New Jersey, who is also pursuing a career in animation.
