Chad Tyler is a native Washingtonian with a strong background in the entertainment industry, having been a proud member of SAG AFTRA since 2001. He has pursued extensive training in acting, including two years towards a B.F.A. in Theater with an Emphasis in Acting at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. Additionally, he has attended various workshops and classes, such as a voice class at The Studio Theater, an acting course at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, and numerous SAG AFTRA workshops. He continues to hone his craft with the guidance of his acting coaches, including Michael Wilson from New York City and Mark McKinnon from McKinnon Acting Studio in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Chad has also developed his skills in voice-over work, attending two beginning voice-over courses and currently taking another online course. His skills include training from Skills Success, Bailey/Hartman Voice Over in Pittsburgh, Billy Collura from CESD Talent Agency in New York City, and Jen Sukup from Shut Up & Talk in New York City.
In his most recent on-camera principal role, Chad starred in the first season of the dramatic web series, Jake's Brother, which is expected to be released in December. This marks his first series regular role and his first web series show. He has also landed co-star roles on Netflix's House of Cards and HBO's Veep, as well as a recurring day player role on HBO's K Street.
Chad's most recent acting performance was in a play reading hosted on Zoom by The Riant Theatre, a renowned Off-Broadway theater company, in the One-Act play, Entr'acte, by Anthony Fusco. In 2019, he landed his first Off-Off-Broadway leading role on stage as Mark in Limited Engagement: A Comedy About Death, for the 2019 Winter Fest at The Hudson Guild in New York City. Other notable leading roles include Matthew in Private Eyes with Journeymen Theater Ensemble, Hamlet in a touring performance of Madman William with Actual Reality Theater Company, and Orlando in As You Like It at The Folger Shakespeare Library.
Chad has also had the privilege of working at The Shakespeare Theater in The Lansburgh, where he served as the Swing Understudy in Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan, starring Dixie Carter and Nancy Robinette. This experience has left a lasting impression on him and has further solidified his passion for the performing arts.
