Chantelle was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of immigrant parents hailing from the Philippines and South Korea. At the tender age of four, she was captivated by Tia Carrere's performance in Wayne's World, the first woman who shared a physical resemblance to her on screen, sparking a lifelong passion for acting.
Following high school, Chantelle pursued her theatrical ambitions by enrolling in Mount Royal University's Theatre Performance program in Calgary, where she honed her craft and acquired an agent. She subsequently began working steadily in theatre, film, television, and voiceover productions across the country.
Her breakthrough role came when she starred as Janet in the nationwide tour of Soulpepper Theatre Company's runaway hit, Kim's Convenience. This experience laid the foundation for her subsequent success, earning her acting award nominations in both comedy and drama.
Chantelle has since become a versatile and accomplished actress, starring in multiple stage and screen roles, including the thriller feature film Peppergrass, which she also co-directed, earning her a Best Lead Performance in a Feature award. Her performance in the existential feature Circle of Steel garnered a Stinger Award for Best Long Form Performance.
In addition to her acting credits, Chantelle has secured recurring roles on British miniseries Departure, starring Christopher Plummer and Archie Panjabi, and Netflix's hit zombie series Black Summer. Her second lead role in a feature film, Peppergrass, has completed an international film festival circuit.
As an advocate for equitable representation, inclusion, and access in the Arts, Chantelle is dedicated to promoting diversity and breaking down barriers within the industry. Furthermore, she is a theatre director and has been selected to participate in the prestigious Langham Director's Workshop at the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival this season.
