Charles Donovan Kelley, better known as Chick Donovan, is a semi-retired American professional wrestler who has had a remarkable career spanning over four decades. Born with a passion for wrestling, he made his professional debut in 1977 and quickly gained recognition for his notable feuds with wrestling legends such as Jerry "The King" Lawler and "Wildfire" Tommy Rich.
Throughout his career, Donovan has worked for various promotions, including the American Wrestling Association, the National Wrestling Alliance, World Championship Wrestling, and the World Wrestling Federation. He was one of the original members of the famous The First Family, managed by Jimmy Hart, in 1981.
Donovan's career has been marked by his ability to adapt and evolve, taking on various roles and feuding with top wrestlers. He has wrestled against iconic figures such as Ricky Steamboat, The Ultimate Warrior, and Sting, and has even made appearances for the World Wrestling Federation as a jobber.
After retiring in 1995, Donovan came out of retirement in 2005 and continued to wrestle until his last official match on February 3, 2006. However, he returned to in-ring action in 2007 and has since been active in various promotions, including Georgia Wrestling Promotions, Prime Time Pro Wrestling, and Independent Wrestling Network.
In recent years, Donovan has made appearances for the Allstar Wrestling Network, Galaxie Pro Xtreme Wrestling, and Championship Wrestling Overload, among others. At the age of 73, he won the DHCW Heavyweight Championship for Down Home Championship Wrestling, defeating Oxford Haney in the process.
