Charles Santy, a multifaceted individual with a rich life story, was born in 1954 on the enchanting island of Puerto Rico. Just a week after his arrival, he was adopted, and his family soon relocated to New York City in 1955. Growing up in the Bronx, Santy developed a passion for music, which was further nurtured in junior high school when his class was selected to participate in a pioneering program, the first band in that school. This experience sparked his desire to perform on stage.
Santy attended De Witt Clinton High School from 1968 to 1971, during which time his family relocated back to Puerto Rico. He joined a local Salsa band as a bass guitarist and singer/songwriter, and in 1974, he returned to New York City to pursue his music career. In 1979, he got married, started a family, and put his aspirations on hold.
However, in 1991, Santy decided to revisit his dreams and try his luck as an actor. Within a year, he landed a commercial for "US Healthcare" and joined the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). He continued to hone his craft, working on various independent films and eventually booking a role in Eriq La Salle's directorial debut, "Rebound" (1995). This led to his collaboration with Stunt Coordinator Peter Bucossi, and he began working as a stuntman and actor.
Throughout his career, Santy has been fortunate enough to work with numerous renowned actors and directors. He has also been writing since the late 1990s and has written, directed, and acted in a SAG short film, "The Lounge," in 2004. Currently, he is working on a few projects that he has written and is looking forward to directing in 2007.
