Born in the year 1900, in the city of Des Moines, Iowa, Tazewell Elwes' remarkable journey as a writer and actor began to unfold. Initially, he made a name for himself in the realm of radio drama, crafting engaging stories that captivated audiences, such as "The Mayor of the Town". Prior to the 1950s, Tazewell had already gained some acting experience, but it was during this decade that he would establish himself as a renowned author of children's books.

Tazewell's most iconic and enduring works include "The Littlest Angel", which has been adapted into three films and numerous radio broadcasts, as well as "The Small One", which was brought to life on the big screen and in radio plays, featuring the legendary Bing Crosby. Additionally, his books "The Littlest Snowman" and "I'm a Fridgit!" (published in 1963) have also been transformed into beloved Christmas tales.
