Charles is an accomplished filmmaker who is passionate about exploring the intricacies of life, from its simplest to most complex aspects. His impressive filmography includes the feature projects "Magic City: An American Fantasy", which made its debut at the 2024 SxSW Film Festival, and "Memes & Nightmares", which premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival and was subsequently acquired by Hulu.
As a writer and director, Charles has worked on documentaries for prominent news organizations, including CNN. One of his most notable projects is the documentary "Diving with a Purpose: Lessons From The Water" (DWP),which showcases a group of Black women archaeologists on a mission to restore the historical record of nearly 500 shipwrecks from the slave trade. The documentary, along with Charles, was featured at the MIPAD (Most Influential People of African Descent) 100 Recognitions Week in 2021.
In addition to his work in feature documentaries, Charles has directed music documentaries for renowned artists such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Travis Scott. His feature documentary, "Buddy Guy: The Blues Chase The Blues Away", premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and went on to win the Best Feature Documentary award at the 2022 Pan-African Film Festival. Another notable project is "Romeo Santos: King Of Bachata" for HBO Max, which was a 2022 Latin Grammy award nominee for Best Longform Video.
