Charley Boorman, a modern-day adventurer, is known for his fearless pursuit of new challenges and his passion for motorcycles. Born to renowned film director John Boorman, Charley grew up on a farm in Ireland, where he developed a love for motorbikes from a young age. He started riding at just seven years old and went on to participate in schoolboy motor cross and Enduro races.
Charley's passion for motorcycles only intensified as he grew older, and he spent four years running a motorcycle racing team, riding alongside David Jeffries and Matt Llewelyn. In 2004, he and his best friend Ewan McGregor embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, circumnavigating the globe on motorbikes. Their journey, which was documented in the TV series Long Way Round, took them through three continents and 15 countries over the course of three grueling months.
The success of Long Way Round catapulted Charley to international fame, and he has since become an icon in the motorcycling world. He has toured the UK and other countries, talking about his adventures and signing books and DVDs for fans. Next, Charley is taking on the Lisbon-Dakar Rally, one of the most physically and emotionally demanding races in the world.
