She received two Black Theatre Alliance Award nominations and took home the award for her outstanding performance in the lead role of 'Daughters of the Mock' at Congo Square Theatre. Additionally, she won a Drammy Award in Portland, Oregon, for her captivating portrayal of Alberta 'Pearl' Johnson in 'Black Pearl Sings!'.
Chavez Ravine's impressive theatre credentials paved the way for her transition into the world of film. She landed her first featured film role with MGM Studios, playing the soft-spoken yoga instructor Tanya in 'Barbershop II'.
